Forgot to post about this. There was a half-hour special that aired after last week’s episode called ‘Teen Wolf Revelations’ with most of the cast. You can watch the full interview in four parts below. Major spoilers for those who haven’t watched last week’s episode.
Been a little busy, but some new stuff popped up with Tyler over the past couple of days. Tyler was on Good Day LA on June 26th, where he talked about the show and his band. Watch above.
Do you speak Spanish?
Muy poquito, muy muy poquito {Laughs}. I took Spanish in high school and I didn’t do too well in it. My Spanish teacher told me not to go on with Spanish anymore, so I was discouraged a little bit. But I have been wanting to learn it more lately. Hopefully I’ll be able to learn some more. Screw my teacher {Laughs}.The fact that you’re half-Mexican and the star of your own hit show on MTV, is obviously a big source of pride for the Latino community. Do you feel like you’re representing for Latinos in Hollywood?
I definitely do. Especially with all of the attention I’m getting from Latino magazines. I also just got nominated for an Imagen Award {which aims to recognize and reward positive portrayals of Latinos in all forms of media} which I’m super stoked for! I can’t even tell you how excited I am about that. Oscar Nunez from “The Office” is going to be there and I love that show, so I’m really excited to see him. So yeah, I completely embrace the fact that I’m Latino and the lead of a show. If anything, I hope it shows that, well, don’t be discouraged if you’re ethnic {Laughs}.In your career, you’ve played characters from a wide range of backgrounds. Do you like the fact that you’re not typecast?
I love it! I mean, people don’t know what race I am. They never know if I’m Hawaiian or Italian or Mexican or Spanish or White. I could play Jewish, I could play anything. I used to get typecast when I was younger…Your character Scott McCall is an all-American guy. He’s not Latino, right?
Well, his mom has got a dark complexion, so I think he’s half-Latino. It never comes up in the show, but I’m pretty sure that he is Latino. I mean, look at the guy! He looks Latino, a little bit.
Full Interview over at Huffington Post.
The Imagen Awards aims to recognize and reward positive portrayals of Latinos in all forms of media, as well as to encourage and recognize the achievements of Latinos in the entertainment and communications industries.
Congrats Tyler! The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on August 10th.
Fun little chat with Tyler, Colton Haynes and Holland Roden about the show.
Yahoo! omg! has this great article up on Tyler, where he talks about the show, the original movie, Twilight and his band, amongst other things.
On the meeting Jason Bateman and getting Michael J. Fox’s feedback:
“We talked a little bit about the makeup, and he said that it burned his face a little bit, and I was like yeah,” Posey tells omg! in a new interview. “So we kinda bonded a little bit … but then he got onstage, and I yelled out ‘Teen Wolf 2,’ and he gave me a dirty look, so I don’t think he likes me anymore.” As for Fox, Posey’s never had the chance to meet the original “Teen Wolf,” but the southern California native is still holding out hope. “Growing up, ‘Back to the Future’ was definitely my favorite movie. I would go to Universal Studios with my little brother and ride the ride … I am always going to be one of [Fox's] biggest fans. I’m really wanting to hear his feedback, though, because he’s had to have at least heard of it.”
On staying in shape:
Despite stunts that require him to be in shape, Posey confesses that he doesn’t hit the gym regularly until a few weeks before the season begins since, well, he doesn’t have to! “First of all, I’m 20 years old, and I have a great metabolism, and great genes in my family, so I don’t really have to do too much,” he reveals. “Whenever I am in the gym, I work out like a mad man and it’s crazy, but it’s not too often.”
On his celebrity crush:
Speaking of being romantic, Posey admits that he recently met a woman who made him blush while rehearsing for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. “My celebrity crush, other than [co-star] Colton Haynes,” he jokes, “is Emma Watson, definitely.” Posey somehow worked up the nerve to talk to the “Harry Potter” star, but says “I have never been so flushed and I was talking like an idiot, and couldn’t contain myself.” While Posey says Watson was “so sweet and nice,” he’s quick to add that he’s currently dating makeup artist Seana Gorlick, who he’s “madly in love with.” Aw!

First up is our leading man, Tyler Posey. After some joking, he got down to the serious stuff. “Stay true to yourself, stay true to what you learned because you worked very hard,” Tyler said. “Good luck in the future because it’s a crazy world out there and I have a feeling you’re going to do very well.” Aww, thanks, Tyler!

The press is still going strong now that Teen Wolf is back. I didn’t get a chance to post everything as they came out as I’ve been unavailable most of the week. Check out all the new stuff that popped up:
“We went to junior high school together. I’ve been in love with her since I was 11 years old, but I didn’t do anything about it until now! I’m so in love. It’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened to me.”
So happy for you, Tyler
