News Bites – 28.01.12

Things have been VERY quiet lately, what with Tyler busy filming Teen Wolf, but we still got a few things to announce, for those not following the site on Twitter.

  • The Official White Frog Movie Facebook just made an exciting announcement:

    The world premiere of ‘White Frog’ will be March 8th, 2012 in the Castro Theater! It will be the opening film at the 30th San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival presented by CAAM (Center of Asian American Media).

    Early Bird Presale tickets for White Frog Opening Night & Gala go on sale at 10AM PST on February 2nd through February 9th via www.caamedia.org.

  • Tyler’s mom, Cyndi, started a new blog! myshowbizfam.blogspot.com – She talks about and posts never-before-seen pics of her family, giving us all the chance to know the Poseys better. Check it out, and leave a comment or two. Also, follow her on Twitter, if you aren’t already @MyShowBizFam. Can’t recommend that enough, she’s REALLY nice to the fans. Just like Tyler ;) . You can also follow his brothers Jesse (@JessePosey22) and Derek (@dgood333).
  • Dylan O’Brien spoke to Hollywood Crush about the upcoming season, and while he mostly spoke about Stiles, he did mention this:

    “Scott and Stiles are probably going to take the superhero route a little more almost, over the fact that he’s a werewolf and ‘let’s start using it’ kind of thing. Like, use it or lose it, right? Except you can’t lose the bite. Something like that…” – source

    I don’t know about you guys but I’m more than ready for the new season!

  • Finally, still on Teen Wolf, the show is giving fans another chance to meet the cast in Atlanta! Become a Fan Correspondent and report back with news of how Season 2 filming is going. All you need to do is head on over to the Facebook Page here and sign up. Once again, this is only open to the US citizens. Hopefully they’ll do they an international contest one day.

    • Tyler and Demi Lovato to Host MTV’s New Year’s Eve Special

    Demi Lovato and Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey will ring in 2012 on MTV’s annual New Year’s Eve Special, airing live from the network’s Times Square studio on Dec. 31.

    The duo will be joined by a star-studded list of performers, including former Disney darling Selena Gomez, J Cole, Jason Derulo and Mac Miller. Making a special appearance, Switched at Birth actresses Vanessa Marano and Katie LeClerc will stop by, as well.

    Says Posey, “I love the MTV New Year’s Eve Special and am excited to be co-hosting it with Demi Lovato. I love the performances and there are some great acts lined up this year.”

    The annual celebration will broadcast live on the east coast at 11 p.m., with a tape delayed west coast showing. Fans hoping to be part of the studio audience can bid on items online until Dec. 18 with proceeds to benefit the FWD Campaign, an East Africa relief effort.

    ‘Taco Shop’ Updates

  • The Official Taco Shop Facebook just put up a new profile pic, which is a very nice picture of Tyler as Smokes. Click the picture for a bigger version.
  • Also, from the Facebook, they said the movie would be out ‘early summer 2012‘. Can’t wait!
  • Finally, Youtube comedian, Eric G. Ochoa, better known as SupereeeGo, filmed a cameo for ‘Taco Shop’. While there he also did a little skit, featuring Tyler, director Rick Najera and the other castmates called ‘Cholo in the WRONG BARRIO‘. Watch below:

    • Filming of ‘Teen Wolf’ Season 2 Begins!

    I was holding off on making this post till I got a set pic of Tyler and the Teen Wolf Twitter/Tumblr delivered today!
  • Season 2 filming officially began on December 1st in Atlanta. The cast and crew have been tweeting their excitement, and the official Teen Wolf tumblr posted the above pic of Tyler and Dylan on set. Click for bigger. They also posted this pic of the cast at their table read on Wednesday.
  • They’ve promised to post a new pic everyday, courtesy of executive producer, Jeff Davis (@JeffDavis75), so go follow the tumblr if you haven’t already. Also follow the show on Twitter.
  • New cast and character spoilers are coming in, with 4 new recurring characters expected to show up in Beacon Hills this season.

    With production underway in Atlanta on Teen Wolf’s second season, the returning original cast is being joined by four new recurring characters who sound like a whole bundle of bad for our resident lycanthrope, Scott (Tyler Posey). First is Battlestar Galactica’s Michael Hogan, who will appear as Allison’s grandfather, a lethal werewolf hunter with plans to draw her into the family business. Stephen Lunsford (Private Practice’s Dink) will pop up as a Beacon Hills High student with a knack for photography and an eye for Scott’s girl, and Daniel Sharman, who previously tackled otherworldly roles in The Immortals and The Nine Lives of Chloe King, will play a lacrosse teammate of Scott’s, and Alpha Derek’s dangerous new pet project.

    Summer 2012 is still very, very far away, but keeping with their promise to keep the fans going with goodies over the hiatus, the official Teen Wolf page put up the first page of season 2 premiere script. I think ‘tease’ is a very accurate description, don’t you? Click the image above to see an HQ version.

    Tyler on People’s ‘Sexy at Every Age’ List

  • All right, mate ;) ? Tyler, Dylan O’Brien and Jill Wagner are currently in London for the MCM Expo. There will be Q & A Panels, autograph signings and photographs on both Saturday and Sunday. I haven’t been able to pin down a formal schedule for events, but if anyone is attending and would like to share info/media, please contact me!

  • Help Lost in Kostko play at the Warped Tour in 2012! Head on over to the Vans’ Warped Tour Wish List board and nominate the band!
  • The movie won’t be out till next year, but the Taco Shop website recently updated their layout with a shot of Tyler and co-star/director, Rick Najera. Check it out here.
  • Tyler’s going to be in the upcoming issue of British publication, Wonderland Magazine according to this preview. They teased that it was one of four covers, so there’s a chance Tyler might be one of them. The issue is out on Friday, Nov 4th. It’s also available to order online here: Magazine Cafe.
  • If you’re feeling the sting of the Teen Wolf hiatus, like we all are, then rest assured you’ll be seeing more goodies like the Teaser released last week, according to executive producer, Jeff Davis on his Twitter:

    Just had a marketing meeting with MTV and we have plenty of stuff planned to bridge the gap between seasons.

  • Finally, speaking of Teen Wolf, MTV will be airing all the episodes from Season 1 in a marathon on October 31st from 9am – 9pm, in honor of Halloween. – TVByTheNumbers

    Feels good to get these little updates about the show again! The cast sends a little thank you message for getting their Facebook to 1 million likes.

    Also, the Teen Wolf Comic Issue #2 is now out, according to MTV Geek.

    Scott is on the run as he tries to deal with life as a full-time Werewolf. His Mom, school, Allison, the team–the excuses are piling up and everyone wants to know what’s wrong. Adding to the drama, Scott’s arch-rival Jackson is using Scott’s disappearance to try and poison Allison against him. It’s up to Stiles to discover the truth: a bio-engineered virus is causing Scott’s condition. But who’s behind the attack? And is there an antidote? Derek Hale may have the answer. The comic book based on MTV’s new hit series continues, and tonight’s a full moon.

  • Tyler was mentioned a couple of times in FabLife’s Top 10 Behind-the-Scenes moments from the Scream Awards:

    10. Teen Wolf-ers Tyler Posey and Colton Haynes surprising their co-star (and candidate for prettiest redhead in the world) Holland Roden on the red carpet. She screamed – which was more than appropriate considering the night.

    6. Tyler Posey barging in on Chloe Moretz in the middle of an interview just to say hi. “Dude, you interrupted my interview!” she teased. The pair became pals while co-starring in the Drew Barrymore directed video “Our Deal.”
