OMG. Earth Day is practically here! Sunday, 4/22 if you didn’t know. We here at Act HQ thought about what to do for the big day (It’s like our wedding day. Kinda.) We wanted to do something a little bit different than telling you about eco-friendly products or why you should hug a tree or whatever. So we decided to holla at some of our fav MTV Stars (Tyler Posey! Colton Haynes! Ashley Rickards! Dan Savage! And more!) and ask them a super important question, “What would you miss the most if you had no electricity?”
Why is this question so important? Here’s a not-so-fun fact: 1.3 billion people worldwide have no access to electricity. So we wanted to bring awareness to it ’cause access to energy = better healthcare, education, and financial independence. Thankfully, Music for Relief, Linkin Park’s org, is focused on bringing sustainable energy to those who don’t have it through their Power the World campaign.
It’s so weird to think about life without electricity, right? Or like “Teen Wolf’s” Dylan O’Brien says in the video below, “Man, I don’t think about it that much.” I don’t want to give away answers from our MTV fam but there’s one common thing many of them would miss: Twitter! Watch the video and if you want to bring awareness to this cause too, it takes a few seconds: All you have to do is tweet out what you would miss the most if you didn’t have electricity with the hashtag #whatiwouldmiss. OK, without futher ado, here’s the video!
Full moon? It’s more like full swoon with this exclusive first look Teen Wolf’s second season. Expected to premiere in early June, MTV’s funny, sexy, scary and all-around addictive reboot of the campy film franchise looks to have even more bite this time around, especially now that Scott McCall has embraced his inner lycan. “He’s a lot more confident,” Tyler Posey says of his alter ego “Last year he was dealing with his unwanted powers, but now that it seems like there is no cure, he’s trying to deal with it more maturely, almost like a superhero…he feels like he’s responsible because he has these powers.”
It’s clear from the pic that Scott’s new swagger is not lost on Crystal Reed’s Allison, despite the fact that she’s the daughter of werewolf hunters. “She’s learning the ropes not just her father but her grandfather, Gerard,” previews Reed of Battlestar Galactica alum Michael Hogan’s nasty new role this season. “He is very militant about the way he teaches. But she still wants to be a good girlfriend…she wants to protect Scott and kill everyone else. That is going to be a major, major conflict.” Howl yeah, it is!
Also, the first Teen Wolf Fan Correspondent winner, Shannon, who got to visit the Teen Wolf set back in February, interviews Tyler, Crystal and Dylan. Also watch for Tyler sporting a really flattering pair of glasses.
Lost in Kostko recently announced that the band will be playing their first live show of the year this June at the Roxy. The Roxy, which is located in West Hollywood, played host to some of the band’s shows from last year.
They’ll be on stage at 8pm on June 1st, 2012. No other news of any other shows for now, but I’m sure there will be more.
Check it! After waiting 4 months, Tyler’s episode from the new Punk’d season, where he’s strung along by host Bam Margera and his brothers Derek and Jesse, has finally aired. In case you missed it on MTV last night, you can watch it below.
The only downside is the clip that made it to air was obviously cut for time and seems to be missing a couple of things from the sneak peek that was released in January. Nonetheless, it was still very funny to watch and Tyler’s face after the big reveal was priceless! Apparently getting punk’d has always been a dream of his.
His mom, Cyndi also talks about the planning behind the prank and the full details of the whole stunt on her blog here!
Something stirred in the dead of night this weekend, in the forests that edge the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia.
It was pure Southern Gothic. With the moon at its height and an eerie silence settled among the trees (save for some overactive tree frogs), out of the mist emerged…a bunch of ridiculously good looking actors and some craft services tables?
Alright, so the scene wasn’t all that sinister, but the cast and crew of MTV’s Teen Wolf, who returned to the show’s suburban Atlanta set location earlier this year, were out in the woods again this weekend, dressed and ready for action. The MTV promo and creative teams fired up the lights and coffeemaker for two all-nighter shoots to develop promotional materials for the show’s second season, premiering in June.
When last we saw the Teen Wolf gang, Scott and Derek had just finished their climactic showdown with the Alpha, bringing to a close the arc of the show’s debut season while leaving a number of loose ends untied. With fans asking “What’s next?” the new promos tease the thematic overtones of the coming season with the tagline “Trust the Instinct.”
According to Tina Exarhos, head of Marketing and Multiplatform Creative for MTV, season two will explore the idea of instinct, and what makes one person rise to the occasion as a hero when another person might walk away.
“In season two, each cast member is tested in different ways, and each becomes a hero in his or her own way,” Exarhos said. “Someone who needs to be rescued one day may become a hero to someone else the next.”
Don’t expect the new promos to let slip too much in the way of plot detail, though. With a serialized show like Teen Wolf, the MTV team is acutely aware of being overly spoiler-ific, and is pursuing a “less is more” strategy when it comes to new season footage.
Look for the Teen Wolf season two promos when they hit MTV on April 23.
It’s finally almost here! Tyler’s episode of Punk’d – where he gets set up by Bam Magera and his brothers Derek and Jesse – will be airing next week April 5, on MTV at 10 PM EST. Check out a quick promo below:
I’ve added 17 lovely behind-the-scenes shots from the set of Best Coast’s ‘Our Deal’ music video, courtesy of David Khinda. This is one of my favorite Tyler projects so far and it’s always nice to get new stuff from it.
Just came across this short clip from the Teen Wolf (and Secret Circle) press interview at the MCM Expo last year. Tyler, Jill Wagner and Dylan O’Brien talk about the show’s appeal and action figures.
E! Online has gotten their hands on one of the deleted scenes from the upcoming Teen Wolf Season 1 DVD.
In this outtake from episode three, Scott and Stiles have a heart-to-heart. Well, as much of a heart-to-heart as two teenage guys can possibly have. The convo takes place in Stiles’ trusted jeep.
Scott has just visited fellow werewolf Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) to see if he could teach him to remember his time as a werewolf (’cause he thinks he might have killed someone, yikes!), and when Scott gets in the car, Stiles dishes out one of his awesome one-liners: “Hey, so what did he teach you? How to roll over? Beg? Did you give him your paw?”
Clearly, Scott isn’t as easily amused as we are, probably because he’s afraid he might end up killing his BFF/trusted sidekick. “What if I go to sleep one night and it’s you I end up killing? How would you feel if I killed you, Stiles?!” Stiles, in all his Seth Cohen-esque glory, answers, “I’d prefer not to feel anything really. I have a very low tolerance for pain.”
Have we mentioned how much we miss Stiles?
Teen Wolf’s season one DVD set hits stores May 22 and season two returns to MTV in June!
